dban and reinstalling windows

Hi all.

So I want to erase my harddrive and install windows on it again. I have an Asus G74Sx which I know has a copy of windows on it that you can reformate the harddrive without using an external CD or USB. Would this feature work if I use a program like dban or do I have to extract the windows file from somewhere on to a USB.
